    3D Printed Dentures

Dentures are removable dental prostheses that replace missing teeth and restore oral function and aesthetics. Traditionally, dentures are made using a combination of manual and laboratory techniques that can be time-consuming and may require multiple visits to the dental office.

However, with advances in 3D printing technology, it is now possible to produce dentures more quickly and accurately. At Dr Be Smiles, 3D printing allows us to precisely customize dentures to fit the patient's specific anatomy and bite. This can result in a more comfortable and secure fit and improved function and aesthetics.

The Benefits of 3D Printed Dentures

    • Faster Production

3D printing allows us to manufacture dentures much quicker than traditional methods. The entire process, from scanning to printing, can take as little as a few hours, also reducing the number of appointments required to complete the procedure.

    • Greater Accuracy

3D printing allows for greater precision and accuracy in the production of dentures. This means the dentures fit better, are more comfortable, and provide better function.

    • Customization

3D printing allows for more precision when customizing dentures. Our dentist can customize the size, shape, and color of the dentures to meet each patient's unique needs and preferences.

    • Improved Patient Experience

3D-printed dentures are often more comfortable and less bulky than traditional dentures. They are also lighter and more durable, making them less likely to break or crack.

    The Procedure for 3D-Printed Dentures

    Scanning

The first step in 3D printing is to scan the patient's mouth to create a digital model. This can be done using an intraoral scanner.

    Design

Once the digital model is created, our dentist will use specialized software to design the denture. The software allows for precise customization of the denture, considering the patient's specific anatomy and bite.

    3D Printing

After the design is complete, the digital file is sent to a 3D printer, which uses various materials to fabricate the denture. Based on the design specifications, the 3D printer builds up the denture layer by layer.

    Finishing

Once the 3D printing process is complete, the denture is removed from the printer and undergoes a finishing process. This may involve trimming excess material, polishing, and adding any necessary clasps or attachments.

    Fitting

The final step is to fit the denture into the patient's mouth. This may involve minor adjustments to ensure a comfortable and secure fit.

3D-printed dentures improve the accuracy, speed, and cost-effectiveness of the denture fabrication process. To learn more, visit Dr Be Smiles at 4511 N Midkiff Rd, Suite E-15, Midland, TX 79705, or call (432) 520-4867.
